What do dome rooflights in Limavady involve?
For Limavady homes and buildings we offer dome rooflights: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Bungalows are widespread in Northern Ireland, and sun tunnels or roof windows are an easy way to brighten internal hallways. Typical uses for dome rooflights include older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
From Limavady to Coleraine, Derry/Londonderry and Magherafelt, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
What you can choose
- Insulated PVC or GRP upstands
- Polycarbonate or acrylic
- Fall-through protection mesh
- Clear, opal or tinted
- Twin, triple or quad skin
- Fixed, hinged or vented options
- Light, impact-resistant domes
Things we check at survey
- Old domes may be fragile — treat as fragile until checked
- Plastic domes have a lower acoustic and thermal performance than glass
Rules and responsibilities in Limavady
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F2 covers energy performance; we supply the manufacturer's data for building control. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Our planning guide covers each nation in more detail.

Questions about dome rooflights in Limavady
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Limavady?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Limavady and across County Londonderry. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Limavady?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
