What do dome rooflights in Derry/Londonderry involve?
For Derry/Londonderry homes and buildings we offer dome rooflights: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Northern Ireland has a mix of terraces, bungalows and rural farmhouses, and rooflights are a common upgrade when extending. Dome rooflights suit schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Derry/Londonderry is the main town we list in County Londonderry; we also cover nearby Strabane and Limavady.

Building control and safety duties in Derry/Londonderry
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F2 covers energy performance; we supply the manufacturer's data for building control. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Dome rooflights in Derry/Londonderry: questions
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Can you work alongside my builder in Derry/Londonderry?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
How do I book a survey in Derry/Londonderry?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
