Dome rooflights for Magherafelt: the essentials
We handle dome rooflights across County Londonderry, including Magherafelt. In short: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Conservation areas and listed buildings in Northern Ireland are excluded from householder permitted development, so we check before quoting. Dome rooflights suit older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
From Magherafelt to Cookstown, Coalisland and Ballymena, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.
What you can choose
- Polycarbonate or acrylic
- Twin, triple or quad skin
- Fixed or hinged with vent
- Clear, opal or tinted
- Fall-through protection mesh
- Low cost per unit
- Fixed, hinged or vented options
What to check first
- Fire classification matters on some roofs
- Upstand condition decides whether you replace dome only or the whole unit
Regulations for dome rooflights in Magherafelt
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Northern Ireland, Technical Booklet F2 covers energy performance; we supply the manufacturer's data for building control. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.

Questions about dome rooflights in Magherafelt
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Magherafelt?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Magherafelt and across County Londonderry. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Magherafelt?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
