Dome rooflights for Machynlleth: the essentials
For Machynlleth homes and buildings we offer dome rooflights: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Chapels, barns and farm buildings converted across Wales often need bespoke or conservation-style glass. Typical uses for dome rooflights include older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
Machynlleth sits about 17 km from Dolgellau and 25 km from Aberystwyth, and we cover the whole SY20 postcode district and the roads in between.

What to check first

Regulations for dome rooflights in Machynlleth
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For non-domestic buildings in Wales, Approved Document L sets limiting U-values for rooflights and roof ventilators; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building control submission. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.

Questions about dome rooflights in Machynlleth
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Should I replace a dome or switch to glass?
A dome is cheaper and quick; glass gives a clear view and better performance. On a tight budget, or a commercial roof with many units, domes remain sensible.
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Machynlleth?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
How do I book a survey in Machynlleth?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
