How we approach dome rooflights in Dinas Powys
Dome rooflights in Dinas Powys means polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We cover the CF64 district and the rest of South Glamorgan, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Wales sees a lot of wind-driven rain, particularly in the west, so upstand height and flashing laps matter more than anywhere. In Dinas Powys, as anywhere, dome rooflights are the usual choice for older flat roofs with yellowed or leaking domes.
From Dinas Powys to Penarth, Cardiff and Barry, the same survey-first process applies: measure, specify, fix the price, then fit.

Rules and responsibilities in Dinas Powys
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For non-domestic buildings in Wales, Approved Document L sets limiting U-values for rooflights and roof ventilators; we supply the manufacturer's data for the building control submission. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Common questions
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Can you work alongside my builder in Dinas Powys?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
How do I book a survey in Dinas Powys?
Send your postcode and, if you can, a photo of the roof and the room. We offer a survey date when we reply.
