Dome rooflights in Devizes: what is involved?
We handle dome rooflights across Wiltshire, including Devizes. In short: polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. The survey checks structure, weathering and orientation, so the quote reflects your actual roof.
Western coasts take wind-driven rain, so we pay close attention to upstand height and flashing laps on exposed roofs. In Devizes, as anywhere, dome rooflights are the usual choice for schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Devizes sits about 10 km from Melksham and 15 km from Chippenham, and we cover the whole SN10 postcode district and the roads in between.
Specification options
- Twin, triple or quad skin

- Fixed or hinged with vent
- Polycarbonate or acrylic
- Quick replacement on existing upstands
- Suits schools, flats and commercial roofs
What to check first
- Upstand condition decides whether you replace dome only or the whole unit
- Fire classification matters on some roofs
Building control and safety duties in Devizes
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Common questions
Do domes leak?
Leaks are usually at the upstand seal or the membrane. Replacing the dome and resealing often fixes it.
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Can you work alongside my builder in Devizes?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
Do you fit dome rooflights in Devizes?
Yes. We survey and fit dome rooflights in Devizes and across Wiltshire. Send your postcode and we will offer a survey date when we reply.
