Dome rooflights for Trowbridge: the essentials
Dome rooflights in Trowbridge means polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We cover the BA14 district and the rest of Wiltshire, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Stone cottages, slate roofs and conservation areas are common in the South West, and conservation-profile rooflights keep the roofline quiet. Think of dome rooflights for schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Trowbridge sits about 8 km from Melksham and 12 km from Bath, and we cover the whole BA14 postcode district and the roads in between.

Regulations for dome rooflights in Trowbridge
For non-domestic buildings, planning depends on the building and its location; building regulations cover thermal performance and the fire classification of rooflights near boundaries. Product data for building control is supplied with every quote.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fire classification of rooflight materials near boundaries is checked at specification.
See our building regulations guide for U-values, glazing limits and self-certification.

Common questions
Why has my dome gone yellow?
UV breaks down older plastics over time. Modern domes have UV-protective layers, but all plastics age.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
