Ridge & pitched glass roofs in Maesteg: what is involved?
Ridge & pitched glass roofs in Maesteg means dual-pitch glazed roofs for side returns, links and long extensions. We cover the CF34 district and the rest of Mid Glamorgan, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Many Welsh homes have older single-storey rear extensions where a glass rooflight brightens a dark kitchen. In Maesteg, as anywhere, ridge & pitched glass roofs are the usual choice for side returns, links and long extensions.
Jobs in Maesteg are planned around access: whether the roof can be reached from the garden, whether a hoist or crane is needed, and where we can park. We check this when we measure.
Specification options
- Integrated gutters and box gutters

Things we check at survey

Do you need permission in Maesteg?
Welsh householder permitted development (Class C) allows rooflights that project no more than 15 cm and sit no higher than the existing roof — but not in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs or World Heritage Sites. Listed buildings need listed building consent from the council, and flats have no householder permitted development rights.
Welsh Building Regulations expect new or replacement rooflights to reach 2.2 W/m²K and roof windows 1.4 W/m²K or a Band B rating. Wales also has its own overheating rules (Part O) for new homes, in force since November 2022.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.
