Pitched roof windows for Llanelli: the essentials
For Llanelli homes and buildings we offer pitched roof windows: centre-pivot and top-hung skylights for tiled and slate roofs. We measure first, specify to the opening and confirm any planning or building-control points before quoting.
Many Welsh homes have older single-storey rear extensions where a glass rooflight brightens a dark kitchen. Think of pitched roof windows for pitched roofs over bedrooms, stairs and bathrooms.
We cover all of Llanelli and the SA15 district, and nearby Gorseinon and Swansea.

Consents for pitched roof windows in Llanelli
Welsh householder permitted development (Class C) allows rooflights that project no more than 15 cm and sit no higher than the existing roof — but not in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs or World Heritage Sites. A side-facing rooflight within 10.5 m of the boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
In Wales the limiting values are 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight and 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window in an existing house. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Common questions
Can roof windows be electric?
Yes — electric and solar-powered models open by remote and many include rain sensors.
Can a roof window be fitted from inside?
In most cases, yes — only the tiles around the opening are lifted, and much of the work is done from inside the loft.
Can you replace an old roof window?
Yes — replacement into the same opening is usually quicker than a new install, often a few hours per window.
Is the survey in Llanelli free?
Yes for new installations. Repair visits are charged, and we tell you the price before we book.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Llanelli?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
