Skylights and rooflights across Cornwall
We survey, supply and fit skylights and rooflights across Cornwall, including Redruth, Falmouth and St Austell.
Holiday lets and second homes across the South West often want roof windows with blinds and remote opening for when the house is empty.
Many South West towns mix Georgian and Victorian terraces with modern estates, so the right product differs street by street.

Planning and building rules in England
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line. Listed buildings need listed building consent, flats have no householder permitted development rights, and an Article 4 direction can remove the rights in some conservation areas.
Under Approved Document L, a rooflight added to an English home must achieve at least 2.2 W/m²K (horizontal plane), and a roof window 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating Band B. Replacing a rooflight or roof window can be self-certified by an installer registered with an authorised competent person scheme; otherwise building control approval is needed.

Common questions
Do you cover all of Cornwall?
Yes. We survey and fit across Cornwall, including Redruth, Falmouth and St Austell. Remote and island addresses are by arrangement.
Do I need planning permission for a rooflight in Cornwall?
Most rooflights on English houses do not need planning permission, provided they keep within 150 mm of the roof surface and below the ridge line.
Do you supply only, or fit too?
We supply and fit. We also fit rooflights you have already bought, after checking the product and the opening.
Will a rooflight make my room too hot?
It can on a south-facing roof with clear glass. Solar-control glass, an opening unit and a blind keep the room comfortable.
Fixed or opening?
Opening units suit kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms; fixed units are simpler and cheaper where the room already ventilates well.
