How we approach bespoke & shaped rooflights in Penarth
Bespoke & shaped rooflights in Penarth means triangular, angled, curved and multi-pane rooflights made to measure. We cover the CF64 district and the rest of South Glamorgan, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Chapels, barns and farm buildings converted across Wales often need bespoke or conservation-style glass. Think of bespoke & shaped rooflights for openings that standard sizes do not fit.
Penarth is around 5 km from Cardiff, and we survey and fit throughout that part of South Glamorgan, including the CF64 district.
What you can choose
- Multi-pane butt-jointed runs
- Corner and wrap-around glazing
- Sloped or monopitch rooflights
- Concealed or slim frames
- Triangular and trapezoid panes
- Works with architects and builders

Things we check at survey
- Precise survey and template may be needed
- Large panes need a lifting plan
Planning and building rules for Penarth
Welsh householder permitted development (Class C) allows rooflights that project no more than 15 cm and sit no higher than the existing roof — but not in conservation areas, National Parks, AONBs or World Heritage Sites. A side-facing rooflight within 10.5 m of the boundary must be obscure-glazed, and non-opening unless the opening part is more than 1.7 m above the floor.
In Wales the limiting values are 2.2 W/m²K for a rooflight and 1.4 W/m²K (or WER Band B) for a roof window in an existing house. A revised Welsh Approved Document L takes effect on 4 March 2027; rooflights in new dwellings stay at 2.2 W/m²K.
