Dome rooflights in Darwen: what is involved?
Dome rooflights in Darwen means polycarbonate and acrylic domes for flat roofs, new or replacement. We cover the BB3 district and the rest of Lancashire, with a survey before any price is fixed.
Rear kitchen extensions on North West semis often have small domes from decades ago that leak or have yellowed. Think of dome rooflights for schools, flats and commercial flat roofs.
Darwen sits about 6 km from Blackburn and 9 km from Accrington, and we cover the whole BB3 postcode district and the roads in between.

Regulations for dome rooflights in Darwen
On commercial roofs the main questions are usually building control, fire classification of rooflight materials and safe access rather than householder permitted development. We confirm the route for your building before ordering.
For buildings other than dwellings, Approved Document L Volume 2 sets limiting U-values of 2.2 W/m²K for rooflights and 3.0 W/m²K for roof ventilators, including smoke vents. Fragile-roof safety and access are planned before work starts.
Read the planning permission guide before you commit to a design.

Questions about dome rooflights in Darwen
Can you replace just the dome?
Yes, if the upstand is sound and the size matches. Otherwise we replace both.
Can domes open?
Hinged and vented domes are available, manual or electric.
Are domes safe to walk on?
No. Treat any rooflight as fragile unless it is specifically certified non-fragile, and never stand on it.
Do I need to be at home for the survey in Darwen?
Yes — someone needs to let us into the room below and, where possible, show us how the roof is reached.
Can you work alongside my builder in Darwen?
Yes. On new extensions we fit once the opening and upstand are ready and coordinate dates with your builder.
